Welcome to the Stocksbridge Town Council website.


Stocksbridge is a small town situated approximately 10 miles north of the City of Sheffield, nestling at the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park and is the home of Liberty Steels, the British manufacturer for Aerospace Steels products.

Stocksbridge Town Council work in partnership with authorities, organisations and community groups to improve the area and to increase the amount of work that is done locally to regenerate the whole area. Latest news and updates can be found here.

Senior Citizens Christmas Party

​This year's party will take place on Wednesday, 6th December at The Venue, Stocksbridge commencing at 12 noon.

Councillors will be handing out tickets for the party from 10am to 12 noon on the following dates:-

Thursday, 23rd November 2023​


WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
A great turnout for this year's Remembrance Parade. The Remembrance Service also incorporated a Re-dedication of the Clock Tower, marking 100 years since it was built and dedicated to honour the fallen of the First World War. Names of the fallen of WWII were added later.










Community Warming Project

The Mayor, Cllr. Mark Whittaker, together with Cllr. Julie Grocutt was pleased to attend the launch of the Community Warming Project held at St Ann's Church Hall on 21st September. The project was organised by Upper Don Community Energy Ltd and aims to make the homes of the most disadvantged members of our community easier and cheaper to heat and light.

Coronation of King Charles III


Best Dressed Window Competition

​The Chairman was pleased to present a certificate and cheque to Early STEPS Nursery, winners of the Town Council's Best Dressed Window competition as part of the celebrations for the Coronation event -


Valley React held at Coronation buffet at Stocksbridge Golf Club


Stocksbridge Area Rangers held a Coronation Fun Day event for Brownies and Guides in the area -


Members of Don Valley Probus held a celebratory lunch event for the Coronation -

Residents of Belmont Care Home enjoyed their street party event to celebrate the Coronation -

The Town Council have produced a flag to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. 6 designs, one from each school in the area, make up the flag. Each school has been provided with a banner which replicates the flag.

Town Mayor, Cllr Joe Staniforth, together with Deputy Mayor Cllr Mark Whittaker visited the schools to deliver their banners.

Following​ an invitation to the local senior citizens groups/homes and constituted groups in the area to apply to a small pot of funding to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Town Council was pleased to award the following groups towards their events:-

Stocksbridge Town Council are currently compiling a list of defibrillators in the Stocksbridge, Deepcar and Bolsterstone area. The following list shows the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) locations which are accessible to the public 24/7.
Stocksbridge
-Stocksbridge Library, Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, S36 1DH on outside wall Manchester Road side to the right of the automatic door
-Crown Cars, Manchester Road, Stockbridge, S36 1EA outside workshop area (Bay 2)
-Snap Fitness, Fox Valley, Stocksbridge, S36 2JA on the outside wall
-Early Steps Nursery (adjacent The Venue), 648 Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, S36 1DY outside wall near the entrance to the building
Deepcar
-DCSS Garage, Manchester Road, Deepcar, S36 2QY - located on corner of fence underneath DCSS Garages Ltd signage
- St John's Junior School, St Margarets Avenue, Deepcar, S36 2TE - located at the side of the front door
Bolsterstone

There are also some defibrillators that are based internally in various organisations and therefore have limited access:-
