CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATIONS...

Each year the Town Council contract an outside organisation to erect Christmas Illuminations throughout the area.

A switch-on ceremony is held on the 1st Friday in December in the Town Centre, with the Mayor carrying out the official lighting up ceremony.  Father Christmas is usually in attendance to hand out sweets to the Children and Christmas Carols are played by Deepcar Brass Band.

The Town Council illuminate Bolsterstone and provide a tree in Deepcar as well as illuminating the Town Centre.

The event has been held for over 10 years and is well attended by the local residents.

The lights are a welcome attraction to the area and receive many positive comments from the community and visitors to the Town.

Christmas Illuminations Switch On

The Switch On of the Christmas Illuminations took place on Friday, 4th December 2009 on the shopping precinct at 7.00 p.m.  Deepcar Brass Band played Christmas carols from 6.30 p.m. and Father Christmas was in attendance to hand out sweets to the children.
