Christmas Illuminations Switch On 2011
This year's Switch On event took place on Friday, 2nd
December 2011 on the shopping precinct, Manchester Road, Stocksbridge. Deepcar Brass Band played
Christmas carols/music from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The
event was very well attended, despite poor weather. It was
noticeable the increase in the number of toddlers and babies
with their parents. It was estimated that there were
around 300 people there on the night with Father Christmas
running out of sweets.
A huge thank you to Father Christmas for sparing the time in
his busy schedule.
The Town Council wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a
peaceful and prosperous New Year.
