Tour de Yorkshire - Thank You

The Town Council would like to acknowledge the huge success of the Tour de Yorkshire 2017. The day saw record crowds turn out for the finale to the event, finishing in Fox Valley. Stocksbridge, Deepcar and Bolsterstone together with the surrounding areas were put firmly on the map with the event being covered on media worldwide.

The Town Council would like to express its sincere thanks to members of its community including residents, local community and sports groups, businesses, local schools together with visitors to the area for the part each one played. Whether it be providing entertainment or facilities or just turning up to spectate. The crowds were amazing with no adverse comments to report. A huge thank you is extended to Mark Dransfield and all at Dransfield Properties Ltd, without whom the event would never have arrived in our area. The management and staff at Dransfields worked tremendously hard, catering for all ages to create a fantastic spectacle and ensuring that the whole community benefited from the Tour. Once again thank you from the Town Council to all involved in the day which highlighted that Stocksbridge can certainly put on a show!
