Stocksbridge, a small town located about 10 miles north of Sheffield, lies on the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park. It is home to Liberty Steels, a prominent British manufacturer specializing in aerospace steel products.
Stocksbridge Town Council is split into four Wards and served by eight Councillors, two per Ward. Details below. The Town Council area lies within the Sheffield City Council Ward called Stocksbridge and Upper Don. The City Council Ward is served by three City Councillors, Julie Grocutt, Janet Ridler and Mark Whittaker, Julie and Mark are also Town Councillors.
At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 14th May 2024 Cllr. Alan Law was elected as Mayor/Chairman and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2025.
Cllr. Keith Davis has been elected as Deputy Mayor/Chairman and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2025.
