Stocksbridge, a small town located about 10 miles north of Sheffield, lies on the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park. It is home to Liberty Steels, a prominent British manufacturer specializing in aerospace steel products.
Public transport links to the Stocksbridge area can be infrequent and unreliable. Our bus services are not prioritised enough. The valley is developing area with growing businesses, housing and property developments. Despite this we experience longstanding problems with public transport.
Starting in 2027, the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority will begin to take back control of routes, fares and timetables across South Yorkshire, and will decide when and where buses run. Under bus franchising, SYMCA will take control of the bus network including depots, bus fleets, routes, timetables, service standards, tickets and fares.
