Stocksbridge, a small town located about 10 miles north of Sheffield, lies on the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park. It is home to Liberty Steels, a prominent British manufacturer specializing in aerospace steel products.
Local groups in our area recently came together to celebrate the VE Day 80th anniversary, with funding provided by the Local Area Committee. Featured below are some photos from a few of these events.
Stocksbridge Community Care Group
Stocksbridge Community Care Group held a VE Day Celebration Party with a singer and a buffet lunch. New members aged 65 and over living in the Stocksbridge, Deepcar and Bolsterstone areas are always welcome at their regular Friday drop-in group at the Venue.

Members of Don Valley Probus visited the Holocaust Museum and enjoyed a buffet lunch.
Valley Recreational Activity Community Project
Valley REACT celebrated VE day with an afternoon buffet with a professional singer.
