Welcome to the Stocksbridge Town Council website

Stocksbridge, a small town located about 10 miles north of Sheffield, lies on the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park. It is home to Liberty Steels, a prominent British manufacturer specializing in aerospace steel products.

Councillors

Stocksbridge Town Council is split into four Wards and served by eight Councillors, two per Ward. Details below. The Town Council area lies within the Sheffield City Council Ward called Stocksbridge and Upper Don. The City Council Ward is served by three City Councillors – John Booker, Janet Ridler and Mark Whittaker.

All eight Councillors are unpaid, but the Town Council employs a part-time Clerk/Finance Officer, a part-time Assistant to the Clerk, and a part-time cleaner.

Mayor/Chair and Deputy Mayor/Chair

At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 13 May 2025, Cllr. Keith Davis was elected as Mayor/Chair and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2026.

At the Meeting of the Town Council held on 12 June 2025, Cllr. Richard Crowther was elected as Deputy Mayor/Chair and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2026.
